Saquatucket Municipal Marina is a full service marina located on
Nantucket Sound in Harwichport, Massachusetts and operated by the Harwich Harbormaster's
Office. The channel once maintained (entrance chart) by the
Army Corps of Engineers using the hopper dredge CURRITUCK is now managed solely by the Town of Harwich with local funds. The channel is maintained at a depth of
six feet at low tide, however , the Town holds permits to dredge the channel to 8' and would do so if tax monies were available. Sand from the channels is used to nourish beaches.
Among the many services provided are: 20 or 30 amp. electrical
power at each slip, water at each slip, a self-service pumpout station,
the clean handicapped accessible bathrooms and showers you will find
in any marina, laundry facilities for guests, and a paved two lane boat ramp. Brax Landing
our restaurant (next door) heralds an interesting pub atmosphere serving family style
meals and top of the line fish & chips. the FREEDOM
ferry base running several trips to Nantucket
daily. (found on NOAA chart #13237)
Saquatucket Marina is the seasonal berth of over 190 vessels including charter fishing &
sailing boats. There are also numerous
slips available for transient boaters which are rented for a minimum of three nights to a
maximum of two weeks during the busy summer season. The marina is open for recreational vessels
from May 1st through November 15th. By local ordinance visiting boats are prohibited from taking passengers for hire and permanent customers must apply for a special permit (waiting list)to be a "charter vessel" .
We accept Visa and Mastercard.
The fee for seasonal leases (May 1th to November 15th) can be found on the Rate Schedule, including
charter and recreational vessels, is $8 per square foot. The fee for year-round dockage for
commercial groundfishing vessels, and the fee for year-round
dockage for paid passenger carrying vessels (rated more than 6 passengers). Because of all this and a shortage of boat slips on the Lower Cape, there is a twelve to 15 year waiting list for berths.
Please visit our rates page for a complete listing of dockage rates
and permit fees administered by the Town of Harwich Harbormaster's Office including rates at other municipal operations, or our
information request page if you would like information about making a
reservation or down load our reservation request form. A complete list of Dockage & Harbor Regulations is also available on the web.
